I Love a Parade
July 5, 2008

The community where our studio is located (The Town of Mt Laurel - in Birmingham) has lots of community activities.  One that has become a tradition is the Fourth of July Parade.  It's not fancy, but it's fun and heart warming.  The town residents decorate their bicycles, golf carts or even themselves and march through the community.

Normally, I am there to record these events, but this year we had a wedding on the fourth. As luck would have it, we needed to run by the studio and pick up a few items before heading downtown to meet our bride.  While packing our car we heard the parade coming.  Although my normal camera gear was tested, packed and ready to go, I always carry a back-up.  In the car was my trusty Canon Powershot.  As the marchers went by I was able to get a few shots.  I don't think they are bad at all for a point-and-shoot camera. Weddings
July 25, 2008

Jana and Jon started our month of weddings at the B&A Warehouse on the Fourth of July.  We had a great time including watching the Fire on the Mountain fireworks display.

As you can see, there wasn't much traffic on Richard Arrington Boulevard in front of the Tutwiler Hotel.

Katy and Jamie had their wedding the very next day, on July 5.  Needless to say it was a busy weekend for us.  But, as always we had fun.  We got to hang out two days in a row with some fun people and do what we love.

The very next week we were at it again with Sandra and Adam.  Getting ready at the Tutwiler, moving to St. Paul's for the wedding and then to the Summit Club for the reception.

Jennifer and Trey had us back at St Paul's Cathedral for the second week in a row.  Even though the photo below makes it look like Trey was having a tough day, we really had a great time with them.  The bottom photo give a better idea of how the day went.
